In this picture the old deeply recessed mortar joints were filled out to the face of the stone to give it a new stone wall look. Black smoke stain was cleaned off above the opening also. At the base of the opening someone had placed a piece of lime stone over the burned hole in the wooden barn beam hearth. A new colored cement hearth was installed to replace the limestone and wood beams.
